SUPERFOODS OR EVERYDAY HEROES

QUESTION: Do we need to be spending money on products labelled SUPERFOODS or can they be actual everyday, honest to goodness whole foods, vegetables and fruit.

What does the term SUPERFOODS conjure up for you? What I have found is that many everyday foods are our superfoods.

Let me introduce you to our EVERYDAY HEROES

We’ve got our crafty cruciferous veg: broccoli and cauliflower, kale and bok choi. Honorary mention brussel sprouts and cabbages, to name a few.

Add a little rainbow magic with beetroots, carrots, kumara, pumpkin, tomatoes, strawbs and raspberries (especially in the summer time) and so many more. 

Don’t forget your leafy greens…love those greens…embrace those greens, they are your friends! There is always an amazing selection to choose from, something at all times of the year. We’ve got mesclun, kale, spinach, silverbeet…to name a few!

Whoops, don’t forget your flavour bombs, herbs and spices and the sprinkles on the top….chia seeds, flax seeds, crunchy sunflower and pumpkin seeds.

Diversity is the name of the game and keeping it simple is key.

Strong foundations are key, from there you can determine if more rocket fuel is required in the form of The Sometimes Heroes.
